Practical workshop for specialists from the pharmaceutical branch at Fiebinger Polak Leon Attorneys-at-Law.

“Anti-Corruption Regulations in the Pharmaceutical Branch – Keeping your gifts exempt from punishment!” This title set the scene for DDr. Karina Hellbert, Head of Life Sciences at Fiebinger Polak Leon Attorneys-at-Law and Dr. Johanna Fitz, Partner at Eblinger & Partner Personal- und Managementberatungs GmbH, in a special workshop as they presented guidelines on how to protect a company from the state attorney.

In the practical workshop on the topic of anti-corruption regulations, one of Austria’s leading law firms in the pharmaceutical sector, Fiebinger Polak Leon Attorneys-at-Law, and Eblinger & Partner Personal- und Managementberatungs GmbH left no question unanswered, whilst also challenging the participants with a selection of everyday case studies of those employed in the sector, from pharmaceutical trainees to doctors. A host of guests attended the workshop held at the law firm’s office to listen to the experiences of the two experts and learn from answers to questions such as “Help – is he an office holder or not?” and “What is bribery and what constitutes aiding abuse of authority?”, as well as work through real-life situations with their own suggestions.

“With this anti-corruption workshop we have launched a stimulating series of lectures for a select audience,” said Karina Hellbert, Attorney at Fiebinger Polak Leon Attorneys-at-Law and Head of Life Sciences.”

“The importance of familiarity with anti-corruption regulations for those in the pharmaceutical branch who are not legally trained often only becomes clear through practical examples.” This was underlined by the impressive turnout, which included highly-ranked individuals from the pharmaceutical branch, and the fervid discussions that accompanied the real-life scenarios during the workshop.
