New Head of Competition and Antitrust Law: Christian Mayer (32) joins Fiebinger Polak Leon Attorneys at Law.

Christian Mayer, listed by Chambers as one of Austria’s leading, young experts in antitrust law, already boasts an impressive curriculum vitae:

Born in Vienna, he completed his legal studies at the University of Vienna before becoming an associate at Fiebinger Polak Leon Attorneys-at-Law. Remaining in the capital he then switched to Dorda Brugger Jordis, and in 2011 he was admitted as a lawyer in Austria. Prior to this Christian Mayer worked as a research assistant at the Institute for European and International Business Law at the University of St. Gallen HSG (Prof. Carl Baudenbacher). He is a lecturer in antitrust and energy law for the course Executive M.B.L.-HSG, for which he heads the annual antitrust module in Brussels together with Prof. Dr. Joachim Bornkamm. Since 2011 he has also been a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen HSG in European competition law. In July 2013 Christian Mayer concluded his spell as a lawyer at Dorda Brugger Jordis and returned to Fiebinger Polak Leon Attorneys-at-Law.

Christian Mayer has advised and represented national and international companies concern-ing matters of Austrian and international antitrust and competition law, merger control and energy law. A further focus of his expertise lies in compliance, on which he regularly holds talks and publishes papers.
